Barbarika-Khatu-Shyam-Story-Photo

Devil Kaal Brahm is a deceiver. He has instilled evil habits in all beings trapped in his dreadful trap. Raga-malice, love-hatred, lust, desires, anger, affection, greed, pride are deep-rooted in all beings. Even demi-gods, divinities in his realm, are also not untouched by these evil habits, be it the triple gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The whole world is ensnared in Kaal's trap.

Through this article, we will prove the deceitful nature of Satan Kaal, the owner of 21 universes, as he plots the whole movie going on in his realm, where he fools beings to fulfil his selfish motive, and the irony is that all beings remain unaware of his crooked intention, hence, they  remain a prey to Brahm Kaal (Gita 7:12-15).

This article will highlight a few hidden secrets by portraying this truth through a brave warrior's life story, well known as Barbarika/ Shyam Ji, who was in Dwapar Yuga who became a victim to the deceit of Kaal. Butcher Kaal plotted the script for Barbarika/ Shyam, placing the gun on the shoulders of his sons Shri Shiva/ Shankar and Shri Vishnu, who are also merely puppets in his hand.

In this connection, explaining Kaal's trap respected Saint Garibdas Ji Maharaj has stated

Garib, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Maya aur Dharmraya (Kaal) kahiye, in paanchon mil prapanch banaaya vaani humari lahiye.||

Moving ahead, let us prove it through the story of Barbarika/ Khatu Shyam based on the following.

  • Who was Barbarika in the Mahabharata?
  • What is the story of Barbarika?
  • Why was Barbarika so powerful?
  • Why did Krishna cut Barbarika?
  • Which God is Khatu Shyam?
  • Why is Barbarik called Khatu Shyam?
  • What is the story of Khatu Shyam?
  • Will Khatu Shyam enter the final battle riding on a blue horse?
  • Is Khatu Shyam the God of Kaluga?

Note: Jagatguru Tatvadarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has provided a correct translation of the verses from the pious Srimad Bhagavad Gita. The interpretation is done based on facts mentioned in the sacred books ‘Gehri Nazar Gita Mein’ and ‘Garima Gita Ki’, written by him. The reference has also been taken from the Suksham Veda and the Mahabharata.

Who Was Barbarika In the Mahabharata?

The Mahabharata is a well-known epic. The great war between the Kauravas and Pandavas is also well known to people. The lesser-known character in the Mahabharata was a warrior and great archer named Barbarika/ Babru Bhaan.

The historical shards of evidence portray warrior Barbarika as one who could finish the Mahabharata war in one minute, with whom even Shri Krishna feared; hence, he examined the power of Barbarika and, upon getting confident that Barbarika is undoubtedly a powerful archer who is invincible and that his participation in war could potentially end the war too quickly. He would become a reason for the defeat of the Pandavas. Shri Krishna, out of love for Pandavas and hatred for Kauravas, devised a trick for Barbarika/ Babru Bhan and asked him to offer his head in charity, to which Barbarika agreed.

Lord Krishna played this trick so that Barbarika could not participate in the Mahabharata war. Krishna knew well that Barbarika was keen for war in Kurukshetra, yet he played foul out of love for the Pandavas.

God Kaal, the knowledge giver of the Gita, tells in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3 Verse 34

Indriyasya, indriyasya, arthe, raagdweshau, vyavasthitau,

TyoH, na, vasham, aagachchhet, tau, hi, asya, paripanthinau ||34||

Meaning: Love and hatred are present in everyone in hidden form. One should not come under their control as both are the great enemies obstructing them.

God Kaal tells in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 Verse 10 to warrior Arjuna that

Beejam’, mam’, sarvbhootaanaam’, viddhi, paarth, sanaatanam’,

BuddhiH, buddhimataam’, asmi, tejH, tejasvinaam’, aham’ ||10||

Meaning: O Arjun! Know me alone as the primary cause of all the living beings. I am the intelligence of the intelligent and the brilliance of the brilliant.

All living beings are ensnared in Kaal's trap. Even Lord Krishna could not escape from this evil habit of love-hatred, so how can an ordinary being escape? The remote is in the hands of Kaal. He lets beings dance as a puppet as he wants. This is a huge trap of Kaal that needs to be understood.

Kaal instilled vices like raag-malice, love-hate within Shri Krishna, which overpowered him, and Krishna became helpless thus, deceived Barbarika.

Important: Vices in beings can only be finished by the true devotion of Purna Brahm/ Satpurush Kavir Dev.

What Is The Story of Barbarika?

Bheemsen was the second of the Pandava brothers who married Hidimbi (a demon). Their son was Ghatotkacha. Barbarika/ Khatu Shyam/ Khatu Naath/ Yalambar/  Shyam Baba was the son of the mighty Rakshasha Ghatotkacha and Princess Mauravi/ Ahilawati (daughter of demon Moora). Barbarika was a great archer who learnt the art of warfare from his mother.

It is said that Barbarika/ Babru Bhaan was a powerful warrior during Dwapar Yuga who possessed more powers than the combined powers of Arjuna, Karna, Bhishma, Dronacharya and many other warriors of his time.

Barbarika was granted a boon by Shri Krishna to be worshipped by the name Shyam in Kalyuga. Lord Shiva gifted Barbarika three divine, infallible arrows.

Why Was Barbarika So Powerful?

Barbarika performed severe austerity to Tamogun Shri Shiva/ Shankar Ji in his childhood with the inspiration instilled in him by his mother.

Being pleased with the dedication of Barbarika, Lord Shiva gifted him three divine, infallible arrows with which he could have defeated any army completely by fighting all alone. He had promised his mother that in battle, he would always support the losing/ weaker side.

Note: In Satan Kaal's realm, seekers perform Hatha yoga/ hard penance with which they gain accomplishments. Seekers perform devotion to please their revered God, who in turn gives them powers, using which they want to become winners and gain fame. The same was done by Shri Shiva/ Shankar Ji.

Due to a lack of true spiritual knowledge devotees waste their precious human birth which was obtained to do true devotion to the Supreme God Kavir Dev to attain salvation/ Moksha but Kaal misguides beings and keeps them engaged in arbitrary worship due to which they remain trapped in his web and keep suffering in birth-rebirth and 84 lacs life-forms.

The devotion that is done abandoning authentic holy scriptures is strictly prohibited in Gita 16:23 because the worship done by seekers according to their whimsical desires does not provide them any spiritual benefit, hence, it is declared useless.

Interpretation: Villain Kaal played foul with warrior Barbarika and ruined his precious human life. Barbarika thought that by getting three infallible arrows from Maha Deva, he had achieved a lot. But the truth was he remained far from attaining emancipation, which is the sole purpose of human birth. His unscriptural devotion did not provide him with fruitful results (liberation).

Gita Chapter 16 Verse 24 says

Tasmaat, shaastrm, prmaanm, te, kaaryaakaaryavyavasthitau,

Gyaatva, shaastrvidhaanoktam, karm, kartum, ih, arhasi ||24||

Meaning: Only those devotional acts should be performed by devotees which are in accordance with the ordinances of the scriptures.

Why Did Krishna Cut Barbarika?

In Dwaparyuga when the battle became inevitable and everything was all set for the war to start in a few days between Kauravas and Pandavas in Kurukshetra, at that time, Lord Krishna got to know about Barbarik’s willingness to participate in the war therefore, Shri Krishna disguised as a Brahman went to the path from where warrior Barbarika was heading towards the battlefield Kurukshetra to war from the side of Pandavas. He was carrying only three divine arrows and one bow gifted to him by Lord Shiva as a reward for his severe penance.

Shri Krishna knew well that Barbarika was blessed by Lord Shiva and was invincible. He also knew about the vow of Barbarika. Barbarika had promised his mother that he would support the losing army. The Kauravas' army was huge and strong. Since the Pandavas seem to be weaker, Barbarika decided to stand by their side and fight.

Shri Krishna thought of examining Barbarika, the grandson of Bheem, since he was passionate about the Pandavas and wanted the Pandavas to win the battle and the Kauravas to lose.

Barbarika told Shri Krishna that he could finish the war in just one minute since he is blessed with three divine arrows.  The first arrow would mark the target he wants to destroy, the second arrow would mark the object/ target that he wants to save, and the third arrow would destroy all the objects marked by the first arrow to be destroyed. After completing the task, all arrows would come back in his quiver.

Impressed but also concerned about the consequences, Shri Krishna asked Barbarika to prove his valour by piercing all the leaves of the tree under which they stood. Shri Krishna, however, plucked one leaf of the tree and hid it under his foot without the notice of Barbarika.

Barbarika concentrated and shot the first arrow, which marked the target, then the second. Finally, he shot the third arrow, which pierced all leaves of the tree except one that was beneath Shri Krishna's foot, which he hid. The arrow continued to hover around Krishna's leg. Barbarika requested the Brahman to remove his foot, or the arrow might hurt his feet.

Barbarika understood that this sage was not ordinary; therefore, she requested him to reveal his true identity. Then Shri Krishna showed him his original form.

Shri Krishna realised that since Barbarika would fight on the side of the losing army, he would take the side of the Kauravas, also noticing their defeat by Pandavas at a certain time and vice versa. This will be a dangerous situation. Then, Shri Krishna sought charity from Barbarika.  Warrior Barbarika promised to give anything that Krishna would want.

Here, Brahm Kaal played foul as per his real nature and inspired Shri Krishna to ask for Barbarik's head in charity and the commitment to not fight on the battlefield. The same was done.  Barbarika gave his head to Krishna, fulfilling the promise of a Kshatriya adhering to the compliance with Lord Krishna's command.

Important: The dreadful trap of deceiver Satan Kaal can be well understood here.

  • First, Kaal made his youngest son, Shri Shiva, provide Barbarika with three divine infallible arrows, due to which Barbarika became invincible.
  • On the other hand, Kaal inspired Shri Krishna to ask for Barbarik's head in charity so that Barbarika could not use those powerful arrows and would not become the reason for the defeat of the Pandavas.
  • Third, Kaal himself created havoc on the battlefield by providing power to warrior Arjuna, who killed so many soldiers and family members.
  • The vice-like love-hatred in Shri Krishna is revealed, about which Kaal talks in Gita 3:34.

Kaal entered into the body of Shri Krishna like a ghost during Mahabharata war (Gita 11:32 and 47) and gave the knowledge of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and persuaded warrior Arjuna to fight but in reality, Kaal completely did the massacre himself and put all sins done in the bad account of Shri Krishna and Arjun respectively which both will sufferin their next births. This is how souls remain trapped in the web of Kaal and keep suffering in 84 lakhs life-forms.

Important: This truth about Kaal's trap is being revealed in Sachhidanand Ghan Brahm's speech.

Who God Is Khatu Shyam?

Ref: Kabir Sagar

Param Akshar Brahm/ Sat Purush/ the supreme God Kabir comes to the realm of Jyoti Niranjan Kaal in all four Eras to familiarise His beloved souls with His true spiritual knowledge.

When God Kavir Dev came in the first Satyuga, he met Brahm Kaal and told him that He would tell the truth to His children that you (Kaal) are not God but a deceiver who tortures beings. God is one and only Kabir Sahib. All beings are misled; hence, I (God Kabir) will preach to them my Tatvagyan and will expose you (Kaal) and take away my souls. Then Kaal requested Sat Purush not to liberate souls in the first three Eras and take as many as God wants in Kayluga.

There is an agreement between God Kabir and the devil Kaal that God will provide His absolute knowledge to His souls, and whoever accepts God's knowledge will only be taken back to Satlok. No creature will be taken forcibly.

Kaal gave a verdict to Param Akshar Brahm that in Kayluga he will mislead souls to such an extent by keeping them all engaged in wrong way of worship like idol worship, pilgrimage, keeping fasts, carrying out Shraadhs,  visiting temples/ Mosques/ Church/ Gurudwara/ shrines etc. that no creature will accept God Kabir's knowledge as a result no soul would be liberated.

Therefore, Kaal has created so many Gods like Khatu Shyam Ji in Kayluga. Naive devotees, out of sheer ignorance, consider Khatu Shyam to be God, which is a myth.

Kaal plotted this script well before and got it implemented through Shri Krishna when the Mahabharata war was finished.

Why Is Barbarik Called Khatu Shyam?

Barbarika put forth the desire to Lord Krishna that he wanted to watch the entire war. He offered his head to Shri Krishna. Barbarik's head was put atop a nearby hill, and from this mountain point, he saw the whole Kurukshetra battle. After the war ended, a discussion arose amongst the Pandavas about who should be credited for the victory in the Mahabharata war. Since Barbarika witnessed the complete war, Shri Krishna suggested they seek the opinion of Barbarik, who said that the entire credit for victory goes to Shri Krishna, as he saw the Sudarshan Chakra revolving around the whole battlefield, killing everyone who was not on the side of righteousness. This declaration by Barbarika made the Pandavas realise that they were simply puppets used for cleaning up the world from ‘Adharma’.

Note: Kaal remained inside the body of Shri Krishna till the war ended. It was Brahm-Kaal as Krishna who killed everyone with the Sudarshan Chakra, but due to ignorance, Barbarika gave credit to Shri Krishna.

Pleased with Barbarik’s dedication and valour, then, Lord Krishna gave a boon to Barbarika to be the God in Kalyuga and bestowed him with the title Shyam, which is another name and that Barbarika would be worshipped as Khatu Shyam in Kalyuga.

Please Ponder:-

  • Shri Krishna, who was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is himself in the cycle of birth and rebirth. He is a demi-God possessing minimal powers. Does he possess the power to declare anyone God?
  • Barbarik was a human being possessing some powers. He was born and died.
  • God is self-proclaimed. God is one who has created entire universes and is the provider of salvation. Neither Shri Vishnu nor his incarnations like Shri Ram Chandra, Shri Krishna, etc., can emancipate a soul. The same applies to the upcoming incarnation Kalki and presently Khatu Shyam Ji. All this is the maze of villain Brahm Kaal so that the soul does not attain salvation, and  Kaal continues to eat them forever.

What Is The Story Of Khatu Shyam?

Ignorant and curious devotees willing to attain God due to ignorance are easily carried away by any folktale and like stories told to them about God, and intending to get false happiness and relief from sufferings in Kaal’s realm,  the naive devotees start worshipping anyone who becomes famous as a so-called God, like Khatu Shyam/ Barbarika.

Answering a few questions often asked regarding the same, let us know about the story of Khatu Shyam.

  • Why is Khatu Shyam famous?
  • Why is Khatu Shyam worshipped?
  • Is Khatu Shyam an incarnation of Vishnu?

According to a belief, the cut head of Barbarika in Dwaparyuga was found in Kalyuga in a small town named Khatu, located in the Sikar district in the state of Rajasthan, India. The devotees established a temple, which is famous today by the name Khatu Shyam, which has become a pilgrimage site holding religious importance dedicated to Shri Krishna.

Points to Ponder-

  • Shri Krishna gave a boon to Barbarika to be worshipped in Kalyuga by the name Shyam.
  • Shri Krishna did not say that he himself would incarnate and be worshipped as Shyam.
  • The head found is of Barbarika, according to believers, so why do people worship Shri Krishna? Both are two separate souls. This proves faith is blind.
  • Shri Krishna was the incarnation of Shri Vishnu, but Barbarika was a separate soul. How can Barbarika be called the incarnation of Shri Vishnu Ji? This is the maze of Brahm Kaal.
  • Since the day the soul is separated from the Supreme God, it longs to attain God and the happiness which it used to enjoy in the eternal abode Satlok, but due to ignorance, the soul tries to find happiness in the dirty world of the devil Kaal, attaining which is quite impossible as his realm is full of sufferings only. There is no trace of happiness here.
  • Kaal takes full advantage of the ignorance of souls, hence, keeps them engaged in the worship of demi-gods who cannot provide seekers any benefit.
  • The most important point to note is that no holy scripture provides evidence of Khatoo Shyann to be counted in the category of God.
  • A visit to the Khatu Shyam pilgrimage site and taking a bath in Shyam kund intending to attain salvation/ Moksha is a wrong belief and a practice strictly prohibited in Gita 16:23-24.

In Pious Srimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 Verses 21, Kaal Brahm says, ‘Whichever devotee wants to worship the form of whichever god with faith, I make the faith of that devotee firm in that very god’.

In Gita 7:22, Kaal says

Endowed with that faith, that devotee worships that god, and attains those desired pleasures from that god, granted by me alone. The fruit obtained by those dim-witted people is perishable.

This clarifies that Kaal misleads people for wrong worship and keeps people ignorant about the right worship of the Supreme God.

Will Khatu Shyam Enter The Final Battle Riding On A Blue Horse?

Ref: Suksham Veda

There is a constant battle going on for the establishment of Dharma (Righteousness) and Adharma (Unrighteousness) in the realm of butcher Brahm Kaal.

  • God Kaal/ Kshar Purush/ Jyoti Niranjan eats beings since he is cursed due to his misconduct done in Satlok (evidence in the creation of the universe). He tortures souls in 84 lacs life-forms. He is a deceiver who establishes Adharma.
  • The Supreme God/ Param Akshar Brahm is kind, who protects beings and liberates souls from the web of villain Kaal and takes them to His happiness abode Satlok, thereby establishing Dharma.

God Kabir has fixed the time when He will incarnate on earth in the middle generation of Kalyuga (when Kalyuga passes 5505 years) and by preaching His tatvagyan to His beloved souls, He will provide scriptures-based devotion and true salvation mantras Satnaam and Sarnaam. He will emancipate all souls trapped in 21 universes.

At present, God Kavir Dev has incarnated in the holy land of Haryana state, India and is playing divine spectacle as Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. Very soon, God Kabir will manifest His true form to the whole world and establish peace on earth. He will provide relief to the suffering souls. He will end the battle of Adhrama of Kaal.

The followers of Barbarika Khatu Shyam have been misled by Kaal that when in Kalyuga, sin/ Adharma will reach its peak, then this Shyam Baba riding on a blue horse will enter the battlefield and will establish Dharma. This is purely a myth.

Ignorant devotees raising the slogan ‘Hare ka Sahara khatoo Shyam hamara’ (हारे का सहारा खाटू श्याम हमारा)  try to prove to him that God supports the losers/ sufferers.  This can be counted as their blind faith, but the truth is that God Kabir is the support for losers,  the only hope for sufferers and needy people and not Khatu Shyam.

Important: God Kabir will soon establish Dharma on earth. There will be Satyuga in Kalyuga where no one will suffer.

Is Khatu Shyam The God Of Kalyuga?

The answer to the timeless question - Who is God? remained elusive and often shrouded in mystery and misconception until the shreds of evidence from verified ancient holy scriptures of all religions were disclosed.

In the light of true spiritual knowledge being imparted today by Jagatguru Tatvadarshi Sant Rampal Ji  Maharaj, the hidden fact that has eluded humanity for ages is finally unravelled, which certifies that God is in human form. God is one and only Kavir Dev.

The Holy Bible, the Holy Guru Granth Sahib, the Pious Quran Sharif, Vedas and Gita provide sufficient evidence about the existence of the Supreme God who is in human form. These scriptures mention the qualities of God.

Rigveda Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 18, Rigved Mandal 10 Sukt 4 Mantra 3, Rigveda Mandal 10 Sukt 90 Mantras 1- 5, Yajurved Adhyay 5 Mantra 1, 6, 8, Adhyay 1 Mantra 15, and Adhyay 7 Mantra 39, Atharvaved Kand no 4 Anuvaak no 1 Mantra 7.

  • Pious Quran Sharif Surah Al-Ikhlas.
  • Holy Srimad Bhagavad Gita 8:3, 15:4, 16,17 and 18:62.
  • Gita 17:23 tells the mantra (indicative) to attain the Almighty Kavir Dev.
  • Rigveda Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 17 and Holy Bible Iyov 36:5 - Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB) tells His name is Kavir Dev.
  • The Gita speaker Kaal tells in 18:64 that God Kavir Dev is his venerable God.

Barbarika Khatu Shyann does not fall in the bracket of God. He does not possess the aforementioned qualities. The devotees are simply misled by God Brahm Kaal, who eats creatures (Gita 11:26-32). Kaal has portrayed Gods and goddesses whose body parts were fragmented like  Shakti Pithas of Goddess Durga - Naina Devi, Vaishno Devi, Jwalaji, Kamakhya temple, etc or Khatu Shyann, a deity whose head is worshipped. This is Kaal's maze.

God Kabir is complete in all respects. He is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient, and indestructible. He has been since time immemorial. God is not era-specific. God can never be one with physical deformity.

This is the right time for people to wake up and stop worshipping physically deformed idols as God, like Khatu Shyam and such.

Today, all the people are educated. They should read facts mentioned in holy scriptures and identify the happiness-giving God and worship Param Akshar Brahm/ Sat Purush Kabir Sahib (Gita 15:17) and attain emancipation, which no demigod in Kaal Brahm's realm, including himself can provide.

Conclusion: Aforementioned, the story of Barbarika Khatu Shyam draws the following conclusions:-

  • Barbarik in Dwaparyuga was a human being and an invincible warrior trapped in the cycle of birth and rebirth.
  • Devil Kaal deceived Barbarika through both Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna.
  • Vices like Raga-malice, love-hatred are present even in demi-gods of Brahm Kaal, like Shri Krishna.
  • Brahm Kaal remained inside the body of Shri Krishna throughout the Mahabharata war and caused total destruction.
  • Saying that Barbarika is a God and worshipping him is sheer foolishness.
  • Visiting the Khatu Shyam pilgrimage site, taking a bath in Shyam Kund, and worshipping the cut head of Barbarika is all the maze of Brahm Kaal and a practice against the injunctions of holy scriptures, hence useless.
  • Khatu Shyam is mistakenly believed to be God in Kalyuga.
  • In fact, Khatu Shyam is no God at all. Devotees who claim some miracle or benefit obtained by the blessings of Khatu Shyam are simply mistaken.
  • Benefits obtained by the worshippers are the outcome of their previous birth's good deeds. It's simply a matter of timing. Devotees need to understand Kaal's trap.
  • Shri Krishna is not seated in the temple in Khatu Shyam.
  • God is the one and only Kavir Dev who will establish Dharma on earth by defeating Satan Kaal.

God loving souls are advised to worship the creator of the entire universe, Almighty Kavir  Dev, by taking refuge in enlightened Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj, whose scripture-based true devotion will provide emancipation to eligible souls.
